The “X-Men” and “Monster’s Ball” actress captioned her post with a defiant declaration: “Today….don’t give a f—!” The photos displayed Berry in a black robe adorned with large red floral designs and lace trim, worn loosely to reveal a deep plunging neckline that extended to her midriff.
The birthday posts featured multiple candid moments, including images of Berry enjoying chocolate-covered strawberries and relaxing on a daybed. One photograph captured her sharing an intimate moment with her fiancé, musician Van Hunt, as they lounged together outdoors. Berry and Hunt began their relationship during the COVID-19 pandemic and went public with their romance in September 2020. Hunt proposed in June 2025, though Berry did not publicly confirm the engagement until February 2026. In a “Today” show interview that month, Berry explained her decision to marry, stating: “I think we will get married just because, out of the people I’ve been married to, this is the person I should have married.”
The actress was previously married three times: to David Justice from 1993 to 1997, Eric Benét from 2001 to 2005, and Olivier Martinez from 2013 to 2015, with her final divorce not fully resolved until 2023. Berry told AARP: The Magazine in January 2022 that she and Hunt spent four months building their connection through phone conversations before meeting in person, allowing them to develop an emotional bond first.
