The newly constructed “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” roller coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood is generating significant noise complaints from residents in the adjacent Toluca Lake community during its current technical rehearsal phase. The outdoor attraction, which reaches speeds of 72 mph, is the theme park’s first high-speed outdoor coaster and features 360-degree rotating vehicles modeled after the “Fast & Furious” film franchise. Neighboring residents have expressed frustration over the screams emanating from test riders, which they say persist throughout the day and into evening hours.

Local residents described the noise as relentless and intrusive, with one neighbor reporting that screams from the coaster are audible even when sitting outside.
