Kai Trump, the 19-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump, disclosed her unexpected choice for song of the year in videos shared across YouTube and TikTok. The selection caught many by surprise when she admitted she had struggled to come up with an answer when asked which track would best define her past year. Trump ultimately settled on “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele, acknowledging that it was the first song that came to mind.
Adele released “Rolling in the Deep” in 2010 as the lead single from her second studio album “21,” and it became widely recognized as her breakthrough hit. The track dominated the Billboard Hot 100 chart for seven consecutive weeks at the top position and achieved chart-topping status in more than a dozen countries worldwide. The song earned three Grammy Awards in 2012, taking home honors for record of the year, song of the year, and best short form music video.
Trump has previously cited “Rolling in the Deep” as a favorite song, naming it alongside tracks including “November Rain” by Guns N’ Roses and multiple selections by the Weeknd during a March YouTube Q&A session. During an interview with Fox News Digital, she also revealed a shift in her celebrity crush preferences, moving from “Outer Banks” star Drew Starkey to actor Theo James, 41.
Trump told Fox News Digital that navigating dating life with her grandfather in the White House has proven “tricky” but emphasized her commitment to maintaining a normal existence. The eldest child of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump is preparing for her freshman year at the University of Miami and will join the Hurricanes women’s golf team during the 2026-27 season.
