Diane Farr, the 56-year-old actress known for her role in the CBS series “Fire Country,” announced her departure from Los Angeles on Instagram, marking the end of a three-decade residency in the city. Farr moved to the California metropolis in the summer of 1994 at age 26, leaving New York City to pursue acting opportunities after securing representation in the entertainment industry.
The actress reflected on her decision to relocate, stating she came to Los Angeles “chasing a dream” that exceeded her expectations. She emphasized that she was not a native of the city nor educated there, but deliberately chose to make it her home for the past 30 years.
Farr’s career gained momentum in 1999 with a breakthrough role in “Roswell,” followed by leading positions in television series including “Numb3rs” and “Splitting Up Together.” Her most recent prominent role came through “Fire Country,” whose fourth season finale aired in May.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Farr highlighted the personal milestones achieved during her time in Los Angeles, including raising three children with ex-husband Seung Yong Chung: son Beckett, 18, and twin daughters Coco and Sawyer, both 17. She described the experience of raising her family in the region’s climate and natural landscape as among her greatest blessings.
Farr characterized her transition as entering her “third act,” a phase in which she intends to “settle into whatever it is I’m supposed to be…as a one.” She hinted at potential future travels to countries she has not previously visited, placing the home on hiatus rather than permanently selling it.
The video documentation of her final day in Los Angeles included scenes of farewells to her residence and motorcycle, along with photographs capturing memories made during her residency. Despite describing the emotional difficulty of departing, Farr expressed gratitude toward the city and its role in shaping her life and career.
