Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles checked into a hospital recently for a medical procedure, more than a month following a serious health scare that she described as potentially life-threatening. Biles shared an image on Instagram showing herself in a hospital gown alongside her husband, NFL safety Jonathan Owens, documenting the visit with heart and joyful emoji reactions.
The gymnastics champion has declined to disclose specific details about the earlier medical emergency that led to her hospitalization, characterizing it only as an ordeal that “could have ended very differently.” In a previous statement, she described the incident as one of the most frightening experiences of her life and noted she had been resting at home for an extended period.
Biles expressed gratitude to her inner circle for their support during the health crisis, particularly noting her husband’s care despite being away in Indianapolis for team activities at the time. The couple, married since 2023, has maintained a residence in Texas while managing the demands of Owens’ professional football career with the Colts.
Owens, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018, has played for five franchises including the Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Bears. The two met in 2019 while Owens was with Houston, and they have since constructed a substantial home together in the state where Biles is based.
