At a Dolce & Gabbana fashion show in Taormina, Sicily on Thursday, Jennifer Lopez offered her perspective on what genuinely attracts her in men, moving beyond superficial markers of wealth. The 56-year-old performer told the crowd that material possessions—luxury watches, expensive vehicles, and private aircraft—are not what define male appeal, even if such items have their appeal.
Instead, Lopez emphasized the importance of everyday domestic actions as the true measure of attractiveness. She highlighted simple gestures such as making the bed each morning or voluntarily washing dishes when a partner is exhausted as the qualities she considers genuinely sexy and meaningful.
The star addressed her audience directly during remarks between performances, noting that women routinely manage multiple responsibilities and deserve partners who contribute to household duties. She performed several of her signature hits, including “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” “Waiting For Tonight,” “Let’s Get Loud,” “Ain’t Your Mama,” and “Save Me Tonight,” while dressed in a sparkling bodysuit that commanded the stage.
Lopez also joked with one of her backup dancers about financial independence, asserting that despite her glamorous public image and expensive tastes, she maintains her own wealth and does not require financial support from romantic partners. She stressed to female audience members that self-sufficiency matters more than relying on others for material gifts or money.
The comments come as Lopez has recently discussed her 2024 divorce from Ben Affleck on SiriusXM’s “Howard Stern Show,” describing the split as beneficial for her personal growth. She revealed undergoing extensive therapeutic work, including sessions with a religious coach, individual and couples therapists, and an addiction coach to understand herself better following the dissolution of her marriage.
Lopez, who has been married four times including to Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014 and to Affleck from 2022 to 2024, explained that the divorce helped her recognize patterns in her relationships and develop greater self-awareness. She stated that she now feels more secure in her identity and can appreciate both her strengths and complexities as a person.
