A simple frozen dessert that pairs creamy ice cream with cookie crumbles offers home cooks an uncomplicated way to create their own version of a beloved treat. The straightforward preparation requires only basic pantry staples and common kitchen tools, making it suitable for cooks at any experience level.

Begin by assembling one gallon of Publix Cookies & Cream ice cream and two to three cups of Oreo cookies. A food processor or sealed zip-lock bag will work for breaking down the cookies, along with a loaf pan and plastic wrap for assembly and storage.

Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs either by running them through a food processor or by sealing them in a bag and pressing them with a rolling pin. Remove the ice cream from the freezer and let it warm for three to five minutes until it becomes pliable enough to spread smoothly.

Line the loaf pan completely with plastic wrap, pressing it firmly against all inside edges to ensure good contact. This barrier prevents the mixture from sticking to the pan and makes removal significantly easier once frozen.

Build the dessert in alternating layers by distributing cookie crumbs to a depth of roughly one-third inch across the pan base. Add a two-inch layer of softened ice cream on top, then finish with another generous coating of crushed cookies.

Press additional plastic wrap over the final cookie layer and compress all layers together firmly. Place the pan in the freezer until the entire mixture solidifies completely.

After the mixture reaches full firmness, slice it into individual portions and eat right away to preserve the ideal taste and consistency.
