The U.S. Army announced Sunday that it has successfully conducted an overseas test of an advanced electronic warfare platform capable of disrupting enemy precision-guided munitions by scrambling their navigation systems. The classified system, known as “Hammer of the Gods,” operates covertly to degrade adversary targeting accuracy while evading detection, according to military officials.

The maritime variant underwent evaluation in mid-July off the U.S. West Coast as part of Project Convergence Capstone 6 (PC-C6), representing the first at-sea deployment of the technology. Land-based configurations of the system have undergone testing over the preceding two years, but the naval iteration marks a significant operational milestone, the Army stated.

The portable device disrupts positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) signals including GPS data that guided weapons systems depend upon for accuracy. By degrading access to reliable PNT information, the technology substantially reduces weapon precision and increases the probability of mission delays and targeting failures.

Beyond signal jamming, the system establishes a fortified communications framework enabling military personnel to maintain connectivity in heavily contested electromagnetic environments. The network allows forces to sustain operational continuity—including firing, repositioning and communications capabilities—despite intensive electronic interference.

The joint exercise integrated capabilities from the U.S. Army, Navy, Space Force, U.S. Space Forces Pacific, Naval Base San Diego and the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command to test interoperability across space, cyber and conventional domains during real-world maritime conditions.
