A young boy lost his life Saturday evening when he was caught in crossfire outside a Bronx establishment, according to police investigators. The fatal shooting occurred approximately 5 p.m. near the intersection of Walton Avenue and Elliot Place in the Mt. Eden neighborhood, authorities said.
Law enforcement officials determined the child was an innocent bystander who became a victim of circumstances beyond his control. A large gathering of individuals engaged in a heated dispute that escalated into violence, with the boy tragically positioned in the trajectory of gunfire intended for others.
Emergency responders confirmed that two additional people sustained injuries during the same incident. The identities and conditions of the other victims remain under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
