
A magnitude 7.3 earthquake jolted the area where Mexico and Guatemala meet along the Pacific coast on Friday, sending tremors across a wide swath of Central America. The seismic event was detected across multiple countries, including Mexico City and territories as far south as El Salvador.
Initial reports indicated that at least two people sustained injuries as a result of the quake. However, authorities found no evidence of severe structural damage in the immediate aftermath of the natural disaster.
