A tractor-trailer became suspended over the side of a bridge Friday morning following a solo accident on Interstate 80 in the vicinity of the California-Nevada border, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident occurred when the big rig collided without involvement from other vehicles, resulting in the truck’s precarious position dangling from the bridge structure.
Emergency responders from the CHP arrived at the scene to manage the hazardous situation and coordinate rescue efforts. The accident prompted authorities to implement traffic control measures across the affected stretch of the interstate to prevent further incidents and allow emergency personnel safe access to the location.
Motorists traveling through the area experienced substantial delays as authorities worked to safely extract the vehicle and clear the roadway. The CHP did not immediately provide additional details regarding injuries or the specific cause of the collision.
