Police and local officials reported that a healthcare worker employed as a nurse was fatally struck by a vehicle in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood. The incident occurred as the victim was departing from an overnight work shift, according to authorities investigating the crash.
The driver fled the scene without rendering assistance or providing identifying information to responding officers. The incident remains under investigation by the New York Police Department as a hit-and-run fatality.
