Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen was taken into custody Sunday and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, according to Marion County jail records. The 34-year-old veteran faced two misdemeanor charges: operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with endangerment to another person.
Allen was being held at the Marion County Arrestee Processing Center following the arrest. The Colts organization issued a brief statement acknowledging the incident but declined to provide additional details pending further investigation into the matter.
The team signed Allen to a one-year deal on August 19, adding the six-time Pro Bowl selection to their roster. He appeared in Saturday night’s preseason matchup against Detroit, recording one reception for 24 yards in the Colts’ 25-16 loss.
Allen accumulated 81 receptions for 777 yards and four touchdowns across 17 games last season with the Los Angeles Chargers. Over his NFL career, the veteran receiver ranks 13th in receptions with 1,055, 33rd in receiving yards with 12,051, and 52nd in touchdown catches with 70.
