Residents should prepare for a hot and humid Thursday with morning lows in the 80s and heat indices climbing into the 90s. Afternoon highs will reach the lower 90s, though the “feels like” temperature is expected to spike to approximately 100 degrees as humidity intensifies throughout the day.

Moisture moving inland from the sea breeze will fuel scattered showers and thunderstorms during both morning and afternoon hours. Residents should keep rain gear accessible and monitor local forecasts as storm timing remains subject to atmospheric conditions developing throughout the day.

Astronomers and stargazers will have an opportunity to observe a partial lunar eclipse beginning at 10:33 p.m. Thursday. Maximum eclipse will occur at 12:12 a.m. Friday, with the full sturgeon moon reaching peak illumination at 12:19 a.m. as the eclipse concludes.
