A young child was admitted to a local hospital Monday evening after suffering injuries from a vehicle collision in Oakland Park. The incident occurred around 5:50 p.m. in the 2900 block of Northwest 17th Terrace, according to law enforcement officials.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived after receiving emergency reports of a vehicle striking a child. Oakland Park Fire Rescue personnel transported the injured child to a nearby medical facility with injuries that authorities classified as non-life-threatening.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and provided full cooperation with investigators conducting the accident inquiry. The Broward Sheriff’s Office has not yet announced whether criminal charges will be filed against the driver.
