Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese established herself as the league’s rebounding force Monday night, hauling in 26 boards to eclipse the WNBA single-game record previously held by Chamique Holdsclaw’s 24 rebounds from May 23, 2003. The dominant performance propelled the Dream to a 78-71 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks at home.

Reese’s historic night also extended her season rebounding total to 458, surpassing A’ja Wilson’s 2024 benchmark of 451. The Dream standout paired her rebounding prowess with 11 points and secured her league-leading 27th double-double of the season on a basket with 13.9 seconds remaining in regulation.

Allisha Gray powered Atlanta’s offense with 20 points while Rhyne Howard contributed 18 points, bringing her career total past the 3,000-point milestone. Gray also set a franchise single-season record with 247 made field goals, improving the Dream’s record to 25-13.

Los Angeles received 27 points and 16 rebounds from Nneka Ogwumike, with Dearica Hamby and Cameron Brink each adding 15 points for the Sparks, now 13-25. The loss marked Atlanta’s ninth consecutive victory over Los Angeles.

The Dream will host Portland on Friday, while the Sparks welcome Washington the same evening.
