Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a ShotSpotter alert Monday afternoon and discovered a shooting victim in the Gladeview area. The incident occurred just before 1:45 p.m. near Northwest 18th Avenue and 63rd Street in the unincorporated section of the county.
Paramedics transported the wounded man to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center after finding he had sustained injuries to his lower extremities. An MDSO spokesperson indicated the victim’s medical condition remained undetermined as of Monday afternoon.
Detectives with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No additional details regarding suspects or motives had been disclosed at the time of reporting.
