Manhunt Continues for Armed Woman Sought in Death of Worcester Police Veteran

A 58-year-old woman remained at large Wednesday following the discovery of a deceased Worcester police officer at a residential address, with authorities emphasizing she should be considered armed and dangerous. The Worcester Police Department distributed updated video and photographs of Karen Solomon as the investigation entered its second day, urging residents to report any sightings to law enforcement immediately.

Officer Kurt Solomon, identified by the New England Police Benevolent Association as a 31-year member of the Worcester Police Department, was found dead inside the Wildwood Avenue home early Tuesday morning. Police received a report of a person down at approximately 5:28 a.m. and discovered the off-duty officer inside; officials have not disclosed the cause or manner of death.

Public records indicate Kurt and Karen Solomon jointly owned the residence and were married, according to a 2016 bankruptcy filing and statements by a Worcester city councilor. Authorities have not publicly detailed the relationship between the two or confirmed specific circumstances surrounding the officer’s death, citing domestic violence case protocols.

Karen Solomon is described as a White woman with dark brown hair and brown eyes, last observed wearing pajama shorts and a tank top in the direction of Westcott Street.
