Jep and Jessica Robertson, known for their appearances on “Duck Dynasty,” have relocated their family from Louisiana to North Texas, a decision they attribute to extensive prayer and consultation with close friends and spiritual advisors. The couple will chronicle their transition in the upcoming Great American Media series “Jep & Jess: Beyond the Bayou,” which launches exclusively on Great American Pure Flix beginning Thursday, Aug. 13, with subsequent airings on Great American Family and GFAM+ starting Saturday, Aug. 15 at 9 p.m.

Robertson explained to Fox News Digital that his personal connection to the Texas region influenced the family’s relocation decision. He recounted hunting trips during his youth between ages 12 and 17, noting that he harvested his first significant buck near the location where the new show is being filmed. According to Robertson, the move felt guided by divine providence, with the family viewing the transition as an opportunity to pursue a new chapter.

The series documents the Robertson family’s establishment of Comanche Moon Ranch as a community hub centered on craftsmanship, hospitality, and legacy. The show’s narrative follows their departure from the Louisiana bayous that initially established their public prominence, showcasing both the rewards and obstacles encountered while developing a venue where neighbors transition into extended family.

Jep and Jessica, who have been married nearly 25 years and are now grandparents, acknowledged that their early married years presented significant challenges. Robertson disclosed that the first seven to eight years tested their commitment, crediting support from close relationships—particularly his older brother Alan and Alan’s wife—with helping them persevere through difficult periods.

Jessica emphasized that their marriage has endured because both prioritize their faith above all else. She explained that maintaining spiritual focus redirects disappointments and conflicts into opportunities for growth, allowing minor frustrations to become manageable. The couple stressed that their longevity stems from mutual commitment to not abandoning their relationship during periods of difficulty.

Robertson offered marriage counsel based on his 25-year experience, emphasizing forgiveness and the importance of moving forward after disagreements. He and Jessica credited their eventual alignment as a unified partnership with enabling them to navigate life’s complexities with greater ease and understanding.

Jessica noted an emerging cultural interest among younger generations in traditional domestic skills such as sewing, poultry raising, and food preservation. She views the new series as offering both entertainment value and practical inspiration, allowing viewers to experience ranch life vicariously or visit in person to reconnect with family and community.
