The Vegas Golden Knights are preparing to launch their tenth season in the National Hockey League with a striking new center ice design that embodies the theatrical extravagance the franchise has come to represent. The elaborate visual features the most distinctly Vegas aesthetic the league has yet seen, drawing comparisons to the team’s pre-game entertainment spectacles that blend elements of ice shows and medieval theater.
Since entering the NHL in 2017, the Golden Knights have established themselves as one of expansion’s greatest success stories. The team reached the Stanley Cup Final in their inaugural 2017-18 season, losing to Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals, then returned to the Finals in 2023 to defeat the Florida Panthers and capture their first championship.
The franchise’s consistency has been equally remarkable. Vegas has missed the playoffs only once in nine seasons and finished fourth in its division even during that unsuccessful year. The team’s sustained excellence has made it an attractive destination for free agents and trade candidates, positioning the Golden Knights as perennial contenders.
Last season proved less successful, as the team fell to the Carolina Hurricanes in six games during the Stanley Cup Final. Nevertheless, three Finals appearances in nine years demonstrates the organization’s sustained competitiveness in professional hockey’s most demanding league.
