Angel Angelitha Cure, 40, of Homestead was taken into custody Wednesday by Miami-Dade Schools Police after she disrupted a football game at Coral Gables Senior High School on Bird Road. According to authorities, Cure directed profanities at coaches and school staff during the athletic event, prompting officers to respond to the scene.
When police approached to de-escalate the situation, Cure continued using profane language and refused to comply with officers’ commands to leave campus. An arrest report notes that parents appeared uneasy while staff members called for police assistance to escort her from the grounds.
As the situation escalated, Cure moved to the school parking lot, where her behavior prompted cheerleaders and parents to leave the stands to observe what was happening. She persisted in directing expletives at school personnel and law enforcement officers before ultimately being taken into custody.
Cure was transported without incident to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where she faced one count of interfering with or disrupting an educational institution. As of Thursday afternoon, she remained in custody on a $150 bond.
