Family of Slain New Jersey Psychotherapist Expresses Confidence in Investigation Two Months After Her Death

More than eight weeks have passed since psychotherapist Brooke Hanlon, 35, was discovered with multiple stab wounds inside her Chester home on June 6. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office continues to lead the investigation into her death, though authorities have not publicly identified any suspect or person of interest in the case.

Hanlon’s family released a statement expressing their support for the ongoing investigation. “We have full and unwavering confidence in the investigative efforts of law enforcement,” the Haggerty family said in remarks provided to Fox News Digital, underscoring their commitment to seeing the case resolved.

According to her obituary, Hanlon is survived by her daughter Avery, her sister Paige Haggerty, her parents Melissa and Joseph Haggerty, and her husband James “Conor” Hanlon. The couple had been married nearly five years at the time of her death and relocated to Chester in September 2023 after previously living in the Boston area.

Hanlon earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wake Forest University in 2013 and a master’s degree from Northeastern University in 2015. Her family described her as a devoted psychotherapist who possessed “tremendous compassion” for the clients she counseled throughout her career.

Conor Hanlon placed the 911 call reporting he found his wife unconscious and unresponsive on the floor of their home. He has not been charged with any crime or wrongdoing, and Fox News Digital has made repeated requests for comment from him without receiving a response.
