Authorities in Wilton Manors mobilized a large police presence Thursday at Manor Grove Village, a residential complex located at 1900 North Andrews Avenue, as officers worked to take a suspect into custody. The department announced the operation via social media, alerting the community to the law enforcement activity unfolding in the neighborhood.
Video footage from aerial news coverage captured responding officers with weapons drawn at the scene. Fort Lauderdale police also arrived to assist in the operation, according to reports from local media outlets documenting the incident.
Officials declined to release specifics regarding the nature of the violent crime investigation. Police instructed neighboring residents to remain indoors and requested that others keep clear of the area during the active response.
