The New York City Council has enacted legislation enabling restaurants to maintain outdoor dining structures throughout the entire year, including periods of cold weather. The measure permits establishments to winterize their facilities, allowing for continuous operation of patios and covered areas regardless of seasonal conditions.
Under the new rules, dining venues can now leave their outdoor infrastructure in place year-round rather than removing structures seasonally. Restaurant operators gain the flexibility to adapt their outdoor spaces for winter months through insulation and climate control modifications.
