Superintendent Howard Hepburn launched his Monday schedule by meeting with school bus drivers at the Central West Transportation Terminal in Davie, which oversees nearly 1,000 routes across the district. The visits marked the opening day of the Broward County Public Schools 2026-2027 academic year, with Hepburn, 47, planning to tour six schools throughout the morning.
Hallandale Beach Magnet High School was among the campuses Hepburn visited, where administrators have implemented a four-day instructional week centered on entrepreneurship, aviation, and technology. The superintendent also stopped at Sunrise Middle School in Fort Lauderdale and Atlantic West Elementary School in Margate as part of his first-day engagement initiative.
Hepburn assumed his role as superintendent in April 2024 and has continued to prioritize direct interaction with students and staff across the district’s campuses.
