An immigration judge in Texas has ordered the deportation of a Canadian woman accused of assaulting a teenager on a New Jersey boardwalk during Fourth of July weekend. Kaitlyn Tracey faced the removal order on Tuesday after authorities alleged she attacked a young girl wearing clothing bearing political messaging, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
The incident occurred when Tracey allegedly approached a group of teenagers on the Point Pleasant boardwalk and struck one of the girls multiple times. Police records indicate the victim was wearing patriotic-colored sweatpants with the words “Trump” and “ICE” printed on them, which prompted the confrontation.
Tracey entered the United States on a visa issued in April 2024 but remained in the country beyond the September 6, 2024 expiration date. She was arrested days after the assault and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, harassment, and obstruction.
Surveillance video documented Tracey striking the teenager twice with an open hand—once across the face and once on the body—before leaving the scene. The Point Pleasant Beach Police Department responded to an assault report filed following the encounter.
An immigration judge issued the deportation order on August 4. DHS officials stated Tracey will be returned to Canada as soon as possible following the completion of removal proceedings.
