Country artist Jelly Roll revealed plans for an extended break from performing during his July 28 concert at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. The 41-year-old announced to the crowd that he would step away from touring for at least one to two years to focus on personal recovery following a challenging period in his life.
The declaration came at a significant moment for the artist, as the Salt Lake City date marked the final stop on the “BIG ASS Stadium Tour Part 2,” his co-headlining venture with Post Malone. Jelly Roll’s last scheduled solo performance took place two days later at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs on July 30, with no additional tour dates listed on his official website.
The touring hiatus follows the finalization of Jelly Roll’s divorce from his former wife Bunnie Xo, 46, whom he had been married to for nearly a decade. The couple first connected at a Las Vegas concert in 2015 and married the following year, with Bunnie becoming stepmother to his children Bailee and Noah.
Jelly Roll, whose legal name is James DeBoard, filed for divorce in May, citing irreconcilable differences, with the separation date listed as May 9. The divorce was completed in early July, with settlement terms remaining confidential, though reports indicated the couple divided assets including real estate, vehicles, and aircraft, with Jelly Roll making a confidential lump sum payment to forgo alimony obligations.
Both parties publicly denied infidelity played a role in the split. Bunnie later stated on her podcast that she and Jelly Roll intend to co-parent and pursue surrogacy despite their separation, describing their relationship as an enduring friendship.
During his break from touring, Jelly Roll has continued documenting his personal health transformation, having lost 275 pounds in recent years. In June, he released the inspirational single “Hands Up,” underscoring his focus on wellness and career development amid the personal transition.
