Woman Extradited to Broward County in Connection with Infant’s Death

Samantha Angelina Feliz, 20, was booked into Broward County Main Jail on Sunday following her extradition from North Carolina. She faces multiple charges including aggravated manslaughter of a child, evidence tampering, failure to report a death, filing a false missing person report, and obstruction of a criminal investigation.

The investigation centers on the death of an infant identified as Angelina, whose remains have not been recovered. Police allege that Feliz and her partner, Alejandro Leon Jr., 21, claimed the child never existed and described her as part of a money-making scheme. DNA evidence recovered from blood-stained items found in a storage unit matched both suspects as biological parents of the child.

A relative alerted Hollywood Police in July 2025 that he had not seen the child since February and reported the couple had made statements denying ever having a baby. When a second relative confronted Feliz at a park in March 2025, she allegedly responded, “What baby? There is no baby.”

Police documented photographic evidence showing Feliz visibly pregnant, images of the newborn after birth, and a final photograph from January 5, 2025, depicting the infant appearing malnourished and showing no signs of life. Authorities conducted searches at multiple residences using cadaver dogs but did not locate the remains.

During interviews, both Feliz and Leon denied the pregnancy and claimed they had fabricated the story to solicit money from family members. Feliz suggested she wore a pregnant belly cast as part of the alleged hoax. A storage unit search yielded baby clothing, a positive pregnancy test, firearms, and notebooks containing gender reveal and baby shower notes.

Leon was extradited to Broward County on July 26 and is held without bond. Feliz was scheduled to appear in bond court on Monday.
