The actress known for her role in “The Exorcist” addressed an official inspection of her Southern California property on Friday, stating that both she and the animals under her care are in good condition. Blair, 67, posted a video to Instagram on July 31 following a visit from Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control officials who executed a search warrant at the residence. The inspection was conducted jointly with the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning to assess animal welfare and verify compliance with county regulations.
Authorities initiated the warrant-based inspection after receiving reports of a kennel operation on the property housing more than 100 dogs. County officials determined that kennel permits on the site had expired in 2023 and stated that multiple contact attempts with the property owner had gone unanswered. The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control emphasized that the warrant enabled lawful access to evaluate animal care standards, safety conditions, and the overall welfare of dogs housed at the location.
In her social media statement, Blair characterized the visit as centered on administrative requirements rather than animal welfare concerns. She indicated that the matter required only paperwork completion and diagram updates, while emphasizing her ongoing plans to relocate her rescue operation to expand her animal rescue efforts. Blair noted that no animals were removed from the property during the inspection, and she cooperated fully with investigators.
The Academy Award-nominated actress founded the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation in 2003, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abused, neglected, and abandoned animals. In her video, Blair encouraged her supporters to continue donating to the foundation’s mission. The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control confirmed the investigation remains active and declined to disclose additional case specifics.
