Model Emily Ratajkowski documented her July adventures across multiple continents in a photo carousel posted to Instagram this week. The 35-year-old captioned the post with the month written in Spanish, Greek and English—”julio/Ιούλιος/july”—giving her followers a multilingual glimpse into her seaside getaway.
Several images from the collection featured Ratajkowski in various swimwear at coastal locations. One snapshot showed her in a navy polka-dot halter bikini inside a beachfront home, while another captured her lounging beneath a black-and-white umbrella in an orange-and-black patterned two-piece, holding a pink cocktail and wearing layered gold jewelry. Additional photos documented her posing with her phone at the beach and dining at an oceanfront restaurant in a dark brown halter top at sunset.
The social media post comes weeks after Ratajkowski published a personal essay in The Cut titled “Mother F—er,” in which she reflected on her divorce from film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard and her experience as a single parent. The couple married in 2018 and had a son, Sylvester Apollo, born in March 2021, before Ratajkowski filed for divorce in September 2022.
In the essay, Ratajkowski described her initial fear of single motherhood and how she established strict boundaries to prioritize time with her 5-year-old son while navigating the dating world. She wrote that she set firm rules including never missing bedtime and rarely having overnight guests, ensuring she could be present each morning for her child.
Ratajkowski credited a conversation with her divorce attorney as a turning point in her perspective. The lawyer noted that many women remain in difficult marriages despite planning to leave, prompting Ratajkowski to recognize her own strength in making the decision to end her marriage.
The essay sparked polarized reactions on social media, with some users praising her candid discussion of divorce and motherhood while others criticized her as disconnected from the challenges typical single mothers face. Ratajkowski has since refocused on her professional endeavors, recently joining the fall 2026 denim campaign for Abercrombie & Fitch alongside model Paloma Elsesser and New York Giants players Jaxson Dart and Malik Nabers.
Speaking with Elle magazine, Ratajkowski discussed her evolved approach to fashion, emphasizing practicality and personal comfort over trend-chasing. She credited New York City with shaping her style, noting the city’s unique blend of awareness and pragmatism that influences how residents present themselves.
