Hundreds of family members and friends gathered in Queens on Wednesday to pay final respects to Staff Sgt. Angel Rampersad, a U.S. service member whose life was claimed during an Iranian missile barrage targeting an American military installation in Jordan. The funeral service drew mourners from across the region seeking to honor the soldier’s memory and sacrifice.
Rampersad was among several American personnel killed when Iran launched a coordinated missile strike against the U.S. base earlier this year. The attack marked an escalation in regional tensions and resulted in multiple casualties among the American military contingent stationed there.
The funeral service underscored the human toll of military operations in the Middle East and the profound impact on the communities and families left behind. Rampersad’s colleagues and loved ones shared tributes celebrating his service and character during the somber ceremony.
