A two-vehicle collision in Oakland Park resulted in one fatality and one injury Wednesday evening, the Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed. Emergency responders from the sheriff’s office and Oakland Park Fire Rescue arrived at the intersection of Northwest 44th Street and Northwest 31st Avenue shortly after 6:35 p.m. following initial crash reports.

The female driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Her male counterpart operating the second vehicle sustained injuries requiring transport to Broward Health Medical Center for medical evaluation and care.

BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit has assumed investigative responsibility for determining the precise circumstances of the collision. The inquiry remains active as detectives work to establish a comprehensive account of the incident.
