Chargers QB Justin Herbert Announces Engagement to Singer Madison Beer

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and Grammy-nominated artist Madison Beer revealed their engagement through a joint Instagram announcement Tuesday. The post featured a photograph of Herbert on one knee presenting an engagement ring to Beer, who was positioned beside him with her hand on his knee. The caption accompanying the image stated, “Meet my fiancé.”

The couple’s relationship began last August, with Beer making appearances at several Chargers games throughout the previous season, including a moment when the two shared a kiss on the sidelines. Since then, they have been photographed together at various Los Angeles sporting events, including games involving the Dodgers and Lakers. Herbert also made an appearance in Beer’s music video for “lovergirl” earlier this spring.

Herbert, 28, will begin his seventh season with the Chargers when training camp opens Wednesday. The Grammy-nominated singer, 27, initially gained recognition in 2012 after Justin Bieber shared a video of her performing “At Last” on social media. She has received Grammy nominations in both 2024 and 2025, though she departed the 2025 ceremony early due to what she described as severe social anxiety.

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh has publicly supported the quarterback’s relationship, notably offering Herbert transportation assistance when the player took time away from voluntary offseason workouts to tour with Beer. The couple’s engagement garnered congratulatory messages from both the NFL and the Chargers organization, as well as from fellow artist Gracie Abrams.
