An 11-year-old brain cancer survivor in Suffolk County got the chance to fulfill a lifelong aspiration when local police officers arranged for her to work as a baker for a day. The child, who has overcome a serious illness, saw her dream profession come to life through the collaborative effort of the Suffolk County Police Department.
The department coordinated with local businesses and community partners to create an experience that allowed the young survivor to spend time in a professional bakery setting. Officers worked behind the scenes to ensure every detail would make the day memorable for the resilient child.
