Defending Our Values PAC, a conservative super PAC emphasizing artificial intelligence policy matters, is directing funds toward two Republican House candidates in what it considers pivotal races for GOP control of Congress. The group has identified Rhett Marques in Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District and Scott Singer in Florida’s 25th Congressional District as its initial beneficiaries following a $15 million election effort announcement last week.
Republicans maintain a narrow House majority, making the outcomes of competitive races crucial to determining party control after the 2026 midterm elections. The super PAC determined both contests represent essential opportunities to help preserve Republican dominance in the chamber, according to those with knowledge of the organization’s strategic planning.
The PAC selected Marques and Singer based on their potential to serve as strong congressional advocates against Big Tech influence, enhance digital safety protections for children and families, and promote American technological advancement relative to China’s artificial intelligence capabilities. The endorsements come as lawmakers increasingly debate how to regulate emerging AI technology while sustaining innovation and competing with foreign adversaries.
Marques faces multiple challengers in Alabama’s Republican primary scheduled for August 11 and carries endorsements from President Donald Trump and Senator Katie Britt. Singer competes in a crowded Florida Republican primary set for August 18, with backing from Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier among other state Republicans.
Should both candidates secure their respective nominations, Marques would face incumbent Democrat Shomari Figures, while Singer would likely confront Democrat Jared Moskowitz, known as one of Trump’s most vocal Democratic critics in Congress.
