Firefighters with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded Monday afternoon to a fully engulfed commercial vehicle parked near Northeast Sixth Street and Fourth Avenue. The mobile grooming truck was completely consumed by flames, with first responders arriving to find heavy smoke and intense fire conditions at the scene.
The grooming business owner had left the truck momentarily to retrieve a client from a nearby establishment and returned to discover the vehicle already ablaze. Inside the truck were numerous pieces of equipment essential to the grooming operation, including a generator and specialized grooming tools, all of which were destroyed in the blaze.
Investigators determined the truck represented a total loss for the mobile pet grooming service. No injuries were sustained by people or animals in the incident, according to officials on scene.
A Honda automobile parked directly behind the grooming truck sustained collateral damage from the intense heat. The vehicle’s front end partially melted due to the extreme temperatures generated by the adjacent fire.
