East Coast Genetic Genealogy Conference Returns to Boston in August With Hybrid Format

The East Coast Genetic Genealogy Conference will take place August 21-23 at the Embassy Suites at Boston Logan Airport, offering attendees the flexibility to participate either in person or remotely. The venue’s airport location eliminates transportation concerns for visitors arriving by air. All sessions except the Sunday morning ISOGG meeting will be livestreamed and available for on-demand viewing, ensuring participants can access content regardless of their attendance method.

The conference features three keynote presentations addressing emerging trends in the field. Steve Little and Mark Thompson will examine artificial intelligence applications in genetic genealogy on Friday evening, while Jennifer Zinck will deliver Saturday morning remarks on collaborative research methods. Kevin Borland will present Sunday morning on advanced chromosome analysis techniques applied to colonial American lineages.

A distinguished roster of speakers will cover topics ranging from DNA health interpretation to mitochondrial DNA analysis, endogamous populations, and Jewish ancestry research. Featured presenters include Roberta Estes, Janine Cloud, Kate Penney Howard, and more than two dozen other specialists addressing various aspects of genetic genealogy methodology and problem-solving strategies.

DNA Academy, an advanced interactive session hosted Saturday evening by Mags Gaulden, will include panel discussions and specialized presentations on DNA testing techniques and ancient connections in genealogical research. Both in-person and virtual vendor exhibit halls will operate during the conference.

Registration remains open with in-person attendance priced at $295 and virtual participation at $175. Additional activities will be available Thursday at the American Ancestors office and library for those attending in Boston.
