Tropical Depression 2 is anticipated to strengthen into a tropical storm today, though forecasters indicate the system will produce no direct impacts to the region throughout the week. Drier air associated with the system’s passage is projected to move in by midweek, temporarily reducing storm chances and allowing temperatures to remain above seasonal norms with afternoon heat index values approaching advisory thresholds.
