Madison Square Garden hosted WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event on Saturday, with New York Knicks players prominently featured throughout the evening. The event celebrated the franchise’s championship campaign during the 2025-26 season and featured multiple appearances by NBA talent in support of wrestling’s biggest stars.

Karl-Anthony Towns entered the ring during a no disqualification match pitting Danhausen against JD McDonagh. The Knicks forward actively participated in the bout, delivering a chokeslam to McDonagh before executing another chokeslam that sent Mysterio through a table, eliciting roaring approval from the packed arena crowd.

NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson made a separate appearance as Roman Reigns’ cornerman for the world heavyweight champion’s main event segment. Brunson, who received a standing ovation, was presented with a custom Knicks-themed World Heavyweight Championship belt as a memento of his appearance.

The evening’s main event took an unexpected turn when Seth Rollins’ entrance music played. Instead of Reigns’ anticipated opponent, Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton emerged from backstage wielding a chair, creating a distraction that allowed Rollins to attack the champion before Brunson intervened.

Brunson’s involvement underscores his longstanding passion for professional wrestling. The point guard has previously disclosed that he and his trainer acknowledge Reigns’ catchphrase before games, while also having participated in earlier storyline segments involving Haliburton.
