Las Vegas Aces Forward Smith Disputes Ex-Girlfriend’s Infidelity Allegations in Live Stream Response

NaLyssa Smith, a forward for the Las Vegas Aces, took to Twitch to address accusations from her ex-girlfriend DiJonai Carrington, who claimed on the social media platform Threads that Smith had engaged in infidelity with multiple partners. Carrington, a guard for the Chicago Sky, alleged that Smith cheated with Aces teammate Deja Kelly, Atlanta Dream guard Aaliyah Nye, and others. Smith neither confirmed nor denied the specific claims, instead questioning Carrington’s decision to publicize their relationship history more than a year after their split.

During her livestream, Smith expressed frustration with Carrington’s timing and method of raising the allegations. “Whether she cheated on me and I cheated on her, why are we bringing that to the internet a year later when nobody did anything to anybody?” Smith said. She criticized the public nature of the dispute and voiced particular concern about the involvement of Kelly and Nye, who had nothing to do with the conflict yet found themselves named publicly.

Smith detailed an in-person confrontation that preceded Carrington’s social media post, recounting an argument that drew intervention from security personnel. She characterized herself as the victim in the encounter and denied claims that she had appeared uninvited to monitor Carrington’s activities. Smith suggested that alcohol and outside influences may have motivated Carrington’s outburst.

The two former Baylor teammates will face each other on the court on August 1, when Chicago hosts Las Vegas for a matchup between the Sky and Aces.
