Connecticut Man Reports Early Morning Encounter With Towering Bipedal Creature Near Voluntown

A motorist traveling from a rented cabin in Voluntown, Connecticut, to his Rhode Island home in the early hours of July 5 says he witnessed a large, hair-covered creature cross the road directly in front of his vehicle. The man reported the incident to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, describing how the creature jumped onto the roadway from his right and bounded toward the woods on his left, forcing him to brake suddenly to avoid a collision.

According to the witness, the creature stood between 8 and 8.5 feet tall and moved on two legs. He detailed its appearance as covered entirely in coarse, matted, greasy-looking brown hair, with proportionally short legs and exceptionally long arms that extended to approximately knee height. The witness estimated the creature’s arm span would reach 8 to 9 feet if fully extended.

The man was interviewed by two BFRO investigators days after the sighting and participated in an on-camera discussion at the location where he claims the encounter occurred. He emphasized the creature was no misidentified bear caught in his headlights, but rather a cryptid that walked upright across the pavement without acknowledging his presence.

The witness acknowledged he had been skeptical about Bigfoot before the encounter but is no longer. He required an estimated 60 to 90 seconds to regain composure after the incident before continuing his drive home.
