Multiple Fire Departments Battle Large Warehouse Blaze in Pompano Beach

Emergency crews from five fire departments converged on a warehouse facility in Pompano Beach on Saturday evening as flames and dense black smoke filled the sky. The structure at 120 NW 15th St. became the focus of a coordinated firefighting effort that drew resources from Pompano Beach, Coconut Creek, Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue, Fort Lauderdale, and additional agencies responding to the scene.

A nearby dealership worker named Wesley Vincent first detected the fire around 6 p.m. and initially mistook the heavy smoke for an issue with a vehicle he was servicing. Upon investigating, Vincent realized the warehouse was actively burning and alerted emergency services immediately by calling 911.

Cellphone footage captured during the incident shows orange flames erupting from inside the warehouse and spreading through the entrance. Someone attempted to contain the blaze using a hand-held hose before professional firefighters arrived, though Vincent acknowledged this effort would prove insufficient against the growing inferno.

The massive amount of black smoke that blanketed the area drew onlookers to the scene as firefighters worked to suppress the flames. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the warehouse fire.
