Man Charged After Ramming Vehicle Through Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s East Hampton Estate Gate

An individual identified as Keith Jonathan Webster, 63, from the Bronx, drove his vehicle through the entrance gate at the East Hampton residence belonging to music superstars Beyoncé and Jay-Z on Wednesday afternoon. The incident resulted in substantial damage to the wooden gate structure, according to information released by local authorities.

Webster operated his vehicle at excessive speeds while ascending the driveway before forcibly breaching the gate, eyewitnesses told police. Once through the barrier, he continued onto the celebrities’ private property until authorities arrived at the scene.

Authorities charged Webster with felony-level criminal mischief in the second degree along with a misdemeanor criminal trespass charge in the third degree. His vehicle was seized as evidence in the investigation.

Following his arrest, Webster was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital after reporting an injury during booking procedures. He was subsequently released back into police custody after receiving medical evaluation.

Webster appeared before Justice Steven Tekulsky on Thursday for his initial court appearance. The judge imposed a protective order barring Webster from any contact with the couple.

During the proceeding, Webster displayed signs of disorientation, prompting officials to transport him to Stony Brook University Hospital’s psychiatric unit for evaluation, according to the East Hampton Press.

Detective Sergeant Jennifer Dunn confirmed that Webster has no prior criminal history. Investigators continue examining his motivations for the incident, which remain unclear.

It remains unknown whether the musical duo was present at the property when the gate was damaged. Representatives for the couple have not yet responded to inquiries about the incident.
