Keith Jonathan Webster, 63, from the Bronx, was arrested Wednesday afternoon after his vehicle breached the entrance gate of the East Hampton property owned by Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Law enforcement documented substantial damage to the wooden gate structure resulting from the incident. Webster’s vehicle was subsequently impounded as investigators examined the circumstances surrounding the intrusion.
Eyewitnesses reported that Webster accelerated his car rapidly toward the driveway before ramming through the gate barrier and onto the couple’s private grounds. Police responded promptly to the scene and took Webster into custody at the location.
Authorities charged Webster with felony second-degree criminal mischief and misdemeanor third-degree trespassing. The charges reflect both the destruction of property and the unauthorized entry onto private land.
Webster was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital after reporting an injury during the arrest booking process. Medical staff examined him before he returned to police custody.
The following day, Webster appeared before Justice Steven Tekulsky for his arraignment hearing. The judge issued a restraining order barring Webster from any contact with the entertainers.
Authorities ordered a psychiatric evaluation at Stony Brook University Hospital after Webster displayed signs of mental disorientation during court proceedings. Detective Sergeant Jennifer Dunn’s background investigation found no prior criminal history for Webster.
The precise motivation behind Webster’s actions remains unclear and continues under investigation. The couple’s representatives have made no public statements regarding the incident, and it has not been confirmed whether Beyoncé and Jay-Z were present at the residence when the trespassing occurred.
