Rising Independent Wrestler BK Westbrook Reflects on AEW Television Debut Against Mike Bailey

BK Westbrook has emerged as a promising talent on the independent wrestling circuit, performing across multiple promotions since late 2025. The North Carolina-based performer has worked for Game Changer Wrestling, Pandemonium: Pro Wrestling, Deadlock Pro Wrestling, and TBD Wrestling, among other organizations. Despite the visibility of these indie venues, television opportunities remain rare for wrestlers operating outside major national promotions.

All Elite Wrestling provided Westbrook with that breakthrough moment in May when he competed on “Collision” against “Speedball” Mike Bailey. Billed simply as Westbrook, he faced the high-ranked Bailey in a match lasting just over a minute. Bailey is widely regarded as among professional wrestling’s top 10 performers across all major companies.

In remarks to Fox News Digital, Westbrook expressed gratitude for the televised opportunity despite his brief time in the ring. He noted his previous experience with AEW as background talent before securing an actual match slot. The wrestler emphasized his prior encounters with Bailey across independent shows before Bailey’s prominent run with AEW.

Westbrook credited his familiarity with several AEW personnel for contributing to a positive experience in that environment. He acknowledged the significance of appearing on television regardless of billing specifics, stating the substantive accomplishment transcended his character name. Westbrook is slated to compete at Pandemonium Pro’s “JoJo” event in August, where he will face Epidemiyus Jr. in a benefit match supporting the family of late wrestler Jordan Saint, who died in a car accident.
