Karoline Leavitt announced Friday that she will transition to a position with MAGA Inc., the super PAC backing President Donald Trump, following her departure from the White House press secretary role. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, the 28-year-old confirmed the move but declined to disclose specifics about her title or job duties at the organization.
Leavitt’s return to MAGA Inc. marks a homecoming of sorts, as she previously worked as a spokesperson for the super PAC before joining Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and subsequently accepting the press secretary position. She became the youngest person ever to hold the White House press secretary role when Trump took office in January 2025.
Trump revealed earlier that Leavitt would step down at the end of the month to devote more attention to family life. In a statement posted on X, Leavitt described the choice as “bittersweet,” explaining that the demands of the press secretary position conflicted with her ability to be the mother she desired for her two young children.
“You guys will still see me all the time,” Leavitt assured reporters Friday, suggesting she intends to remain active in Trump’s political operation as Republicans prepare for midterm contests. She noted that Friday’s Air Force One flight constituted her final official trip in her current capacity.
The departure leaves a significant opening in the White House briefing room. Trump has not yet identified a successor to fill the prominent communications role.
