The National Hockey League has formally announced the Hometown Remix program, a league-wide initiative that will introduce specially designed jerseys for each of its 32 franchises. Fanatics, the league’s official jersey supplier since 2024, will oversee the program as its first major jersey rollout since securing the partnership.

The initiative draws inspiration from similar programs in other major sports leagues, including Major League Baseball’s City Connect jerseys and the NBA’s City Edition uniforms. Each design will reflect the colors and cultural heritage of the team’s respective city, with accompanying merchandise featuring matching logos and aesthetics.

Fanatics will build upon the foundation established by previous supplier Adidas, which produced two well-received editions of the Reverse Retro program. Those jerseys reimagined historical designs from each franchise’s past or their city’s broader hockey heritage.

Design details have circulated for months through hockey fan communities, with the website Icethetics releasing projected color schemes for teams. Reports suggest some franchises will sport notably unconventional looks, including a pink Panthers design and a green Blackhawks jersey.

The NHL has not yet announced a specific unveiling date, though the league indicated more information will be released shortly after the 2026-27 season begins. The new season will operate under an 84-game schedule established through the recently implemented collective bargaining agreement.
