A Key West Police Department officer was taken into custody Sunday morning on driving under the influence charges. Officers discovered Dustin Christina sitting behind the wheel of a stationary vehicle near Peary Court at approximately 5:10 a.m., following reports of suspicious activity in the area.
A supervising officer at the scene conducted an investigation and determined sufficient grounds existed to arrest Christina on the DUI charge. The off-duty officer was transported to the Monroe County Detention Center without resistance, according to law enforcement officials.
The incident remains under investigation, with authorities declining to release additional information at this time. No further details regarding the circumstances of the arrest have been disclosed by the Key West Police Department.
