A Key West Police Department officer was taken into custody Sunday morning on driving under the influence charges. Officers discovered Dustin Christina sitting behind the wheel of a stationary vehicle near Peary Court at approximately 5:10 a.m., following reports of suspicious activity in the area.

A supervising officer at the scene conducted an investigation and determined sufficient grounds existed to arrest Christina on the DUI charge. The off-duty officer was transported to the Monroe County Detention Center without resistance, according to law enforcement officials.
