A Miami Beach police department investigation led to the arrest of 46-year-old Adriyel Manzoratte on Wednesday in connection with a sexual assault complaint filed by a woman. The alleged incident occurred Tuesday morning near Collins Avenue and 25th Street on the beach, authorities said.
According to a police arrest report, the woman told officers that Manzoratte engaged in indecent exposure before physically restraining her and committing sexual battery. The woman stated she had initially approached the man after finding him without pants, offering him a towel out of sympathy before he sat beside her, the report indicated.
Detectives said Manzoratte subsequently admitted to masturbating adjacent to the woman and then making unwanted sexual advances. Despite the woman’s repeated verbal rejections, Manzoratte told police he did not consider her refusals to be genuine, according to the arrest report.
Officers apprehended Manzoratte shortly after 11:05 a.m. on Wednesday and transported him to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he was booked at 1:50 p.m. Manzoratte faces a sexual battery charge.
