The Las Vegas Aces outlasted the Indiana Fever 86-84 in an overtime contest Thursday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with veteran guard Chelsea Gray delivering the decisive three-pointer as the final buzzer sounded. The second-seeded Aces mounted a furious comeback despite trailing late in regulation, with A’ja Wilson contributing 26 points to power the comeback effort.
Indiana’s Caitlin Clark struggled throughout the matchup, compiling 20 points, eight assists and three rebounds while committing eight turnovers. Clark’s crucial missteps included two missed free throws late in regulation that proved costly, and a critical turnover with the Fever holding a 84-83 lead in overtime that handed possession back to Las Vegas for the final shot.
Jackie Young led the Aces with 22 points while Gray’s clutch performance proved decisive. The game featured nine lead changes between the fourth quarter and overtime alone, making for one of the season’s most competitive matchups between the two franchises.
The on-court drama was overshadowed by a confrontation between Young and courtside spectators, prompting security intervention. An Indiana Fever spokesperson subsequently clarified that no Fan Code of Conduct violation occurred and the fan “elected to leave” rather than being ejected from the arena.
